At a concert in America back in the seventies Pete Townshend said to the U.S audience before the band started playing My Generation " You probably think that being a mod in England was a Carnaby Street thing? To us it was (pause) you know what I mean? That "You know what I mean" said it all to me, as being a mod was not just about the clothes and the music but about an attitude that you were a part of something unique to a generation. Every
generation has its fashion that goes in hand with the music they like
but the mods probably did more to get the boys back on the dance floor.
This
site is aimed at all of you interested in the mod culture but mainly about
the music that set The Mod apart from others of their generation. Click on a picture at the top and you will be taken to pages that I hope will be of interest. Brian Carroll Once
a Mod always a Mod
