At a concert in America back in the seventies Pete Townshend said to the U.S audience before the band started playing My Generation " You probably think that being a mod in England was a Carnaby Street thing? To us it was (pause) you know what I mean?

That "You know what I mean" said it all to me, as being a mod was not just about the clothes and the music but about an attitude that you were a part of something unique to a generation.

Every generation has its fashion that goes in hand with the music they like but the mods probably did more to get the boys back on the dance floor.
Shows like Ready Steady Go showed all the latest fashions and dances as the weekend started at 6.0 clock on a Friday night.

This site is aimed at all of you interested in the mod culture but mainly about the music that set The Mod apart from others of their generation.
If you want to add your views, stories, photos or comments you are welcome.
